**ALL LOCALS** HUEY P. LONG BRIDGE EXPANSION IS CLOSED THIS WEEKEND
The bridge will be closed from 5AM Saturday to 5AM Monday
Those that are into watching HISTORY in the making will be out there with their lawn chairs watching as they put into place whole pieces of the new bridge.
Soon the character as we locals call it, you know the park where you kind of have to do that little quick curve after the covered train part going to the Westbank will be no more. :(   Kind of sad to see it go. lol Our new bridge will be straight and no longer will there be the Bridge City Circles.  Not sad to see that gone that's for sure.  The whole project including the new roads which will hook into Hwy 90' should be done around the middle of 2013.   Sounds great for the local drivers, but I am not to sure about the small local businesses right around there.
