The Crossing of America

The Crossing of America will begin on May 27, 2011 just prior to Memorial Day Weekend, aboard the deck of the USS Midway in San Diego Harbor, and concludes on Thursday, September 8, 2011, on the deck of the USS Intrepid in New York Harbor. The closing ceremony of The Crossing of America will mark the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. The Crossing of America tour will travel over 12,700 miles through 43 states and the District of Columbia during its 105-day trip.

The Crossing of America, will capture the imagination of millions of Americans, and along the route, the Spirit of Liberty Jeeps will be the most celebrity-driven vehicles ever, having been driven by high-profile Celebrities, Sports Figures, Government Officials, Veterans, POWs, Medal of Honor recipients, and Family Members of Fallen Heroes.

"I seen a story Sunday night on the News and they were talking about how many vets are coming home only to become homeless!   They were speaking about how hard it is to get a job right now and we have so many men and women fighting for our freedom right now only to come home to NOTHING!  And a lot of the vets have injuries and even worse is a lot of them have brain injuries so it makes them have a greater risk at being homeless.  There are a total of 9,000 men and women vets that ARE HOMELESS Right Now!  Please, we have to do something about this, we can not let this continue on.  Thank you for reading and thank you for caring." :)

Home Depot — Offers a 10 per­cent dis­count to all Vet­er­ans dur­ing Vet­er­ans Day, Memo­r­ial Day and Inde­pen­dence Day.

Lowe’s — All vet­er­ans receive the 10-percent dis­count on Veteran’s Day, Memo­r­ial Day and the Fourth of July. The offer is avail­able in stores only and is lim­ited to in-stock and special-order pur­chases of up to $5,000.

Sam’s Club — Sam’s gives away 36,000 col­lapsi­ble Hugo Canes on Vet­er­ans Day to mil­i­tary vet­er­ans in need of mobil­ity assis­tance. Sam’s Club will require mem­ber­ship for this offer, but proof of ser­vice may be nec­es­sary.
