Good morning everybody, I wanted to say first off I am sorry I didn't get anything posted this weekend.  I'll try and make sure I have things scheduled from here on out.  I had a wonderful weekend and it's been so long since I was able to do as much without my back pain taking over.
As most of you know I've got major problem with my back, many surgeries, rods, bolts, fusion, I think they even took something out in one spot and my last one was to put in a Spinal Chord Stimulator.
**WARNING**
Before you click to go on I just want to warn you that I posted a couple pictures of my back after surgery.  It's not that scary.. but if your not into looking at this type of thing you may not want to click.
Below the pictures I will list what I was able to do this weekend, it's AMAZING!

Both back surgeons were great especially Dr STECK I mean can you even see the long scare down my spine at the bottom? I've got scratches that have scared more then this Dr. Steck is the MAN!  I love this Dr. can you tell? lol  He is the smartest, sweetest, shyest guy but an amazing surgeon.  He is great with spinal work, but I've heard he is even better with brain injuries. I believe the rumors.  He is so humble, and he really cares about people so I think that helps him to be a better doctor.

This was right after my last surgery.
This is how they put the lead in. I have more info on my back blog. "which needs updating"
It's like all this goes inside.

I had this for a (2) week trial before to make sure it would help.  It helped at least 50% and that was enough to have it done.  If your looking into this surgery ask me anything and I WILL give you all the info I know and anything you want to know I will answer as honest as I can.  Anybody suffering with back surgery or any type of spinal injury my heart goes out to you I UNDERSTAND what your going through. Leave me a message here and I'll get back to you.  If your wondering if it's expensive the answer is HELL YEAH! Sorry.... it's CRAZY just how much this cost.  It cost me I use to remember to the penny, but I do know for both surgeries the trial and the permanent one right under $200,000! I know I should of had you sit down first, sorry about that.  A lot of insurances do pay for a lot of it though, so there are a few things beside selling your kids you can do.
Okay... well I'll stop now just let me know if your looking for any type of answers I can help you with.

Well this weekend I was able to do all the following and I can still stand and walk.
Friday: Walked the dogs 30 minutes each.  Then we went to the French Quarter Fest. parked over by NOCCA and walked to the Festival and then all the way to Jax.  Plus just walking around enjoying the amazing music, people, food and sites.  Plus I did not drink! I usually will drink beer, to help with the pain, but I didn't have to!  My back did start hurting a few times, but it was from standing still as long as I kept moving I was okay.
Then Saturday I walked the dogs again for about 1 1/2 hours.  I walk them (1) at a time now I am not taking anymore chances with getting pulled down.  Plus it gives me more exercise so it all works out.  I did a few jobs or surveying at The Dollar General store, I had one in Saint Rose and one in Harahand.  I also went to a thrift store after looking for shorts and a dress or two since all my clothes are to BIG! Yeah! I know it's a great problem to have so instead of buying new and then soon them not fitting either I went and got a GREAT deal.  I bought me 2 dresses, 4 pair of shorts, 1 pair of sandals that look brand new name brand too.  I also bought my (3 year old) grand baby 4 pair of shorts, a dress and a sit & spin, my dogs 4 balls I thought they couldn't mess up.   "I was wrong" :( All of that only cost me $72 what a bargain! I wore the Eddie Bauer shorts yesterday to the Zoo and they were cute and very comfortable.  I love Eddie Bauer clothes for comfort.

Sunday I did a 5K race and my time was the fastest so far! I did it in 52 minutes, can you believe it?  What I can't believe is I felt good after I wasn't hurting. All I did before the race was take a warm shower and put on Ben Gay.  I put it on my back, my hips and my calfs and it must of helped cause I wasn't having my normal pains.  It was a beautiful race too, I'll post pictures soon.
After the race I enjoyed the music, food and I drank (1) Abita lite I wasn't sure if I should or shouldn't but I gave in and had it. Since it was light it wasn't too many calories.

After about 30 minutes I went home, walked each dog about 20 minutes each took a shower and picked my oldest daughter and the baby up.  Wait until I show y'all Isabella's pictures, she looked like a doll.  I had bought her these Cinderella sunglasses from the dollar store the day before, she was so excited she thought she was a movie star with those glasses.  It was so funny to watch, if she wasn't waring them she would put them on her head like I do. She is so much fun, I think she maybe a comedian this kid LOVES to make people laugh.

So we spent the rest of the day walking at the zoo.  We were there until closing and was almost one of the last people there.  It was a great time, and I enjoyed it.  So that was my weekend, a lot of walking as you can see.  Just last month I would of NEVER been able to do this.  So far this year I've lost 22lbs and I am still losing so combined with the exercising and the weight lost it's starting to really help my back.  I even was able to pick up my grand-baby a couple times at that zoo. :)

How did I lose weight? Exercise! Yes, that's what it's mostly from.  I haven't been dieting, I am not going on a diet ever again.  I am really eating more then ever, I am just eating better food.  Lots of fruit, I LOVE fruit and it's always so good when it gets hot outside.  Walking has been my exercise of choice.  I did get the Zumba videos and I did it a few times and learn dances, but I haven't done it a lot I think I'll do it when it rains, or when I can't get outside.  I'll be starting it again soon though, because I do like it a lot it's fun and it does make you sweat.  If you like dancing I would suggest it, because it is a lot of fun, and they say you can lose 800 calories an hour do this!   I got mine for a great price at QVC, so if your looking for a package deal check them out.

Hopefully I didn't bore you to death with my long story I am just so excited that I was able to accomplish this.  I can still remember when I was defined to a bed and not able to even walk.  This is a MAJOR deal for me. :)

I hope you too had a great weekend and if there is anything your working on as a gold, I sure hope it is going good for you too! :)  And hey if it's not going good, then change it it's a new day and it's even MONDAY so you don't have an excuse. Just get on with it and, YOU CAN DO IT!

Okay y'all I have to go walk now, because it's going to rain and I don't want to miss so I WILL be back on adding great deals and freebies I promise you.
