2011 proved to be an incredible year for the New Orleans Film Society and the New Orleans Film Festival. As New Orleans’ profile as an epicenter for film production grows, so does its reputation as a first-class city for film exhibition. With over 180 stunning films to choose from, there is literally something for everyone in this year’s lineup.

John Goodman to be named New Orleans Film Society's 2011 Celluloid Hero

NEW ORLEANS LOVES JOHN GOODMEN!

"I only wish he would of stayed on Treme I think I missed him more then his wife and daughter." lol 

"This is the film, but I think it maybe a little longer now."

My daughter's film is up for an award.

 Her name is Kayla Elorza and her film is, "Stories from the Sleeping Mind." Her film is in the Animated Shorts and it will be showed Saturday, Oct. 15 12PM  and Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 5:30PM at the Theaters at Canal Place

In the program it's listed on page 68.

Congratulations Kayla, and Good luck baby, you deserve to win!

Stories from the Sleeping Mind, is a film Kayla wrote after studying at NOCCA.  She studied under Mr. Paul Werner, who is an amazing teacher at NOCCA.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 2011 in New York, both Kayla and Mr Werner won Gold!

 Kayla and her teacher Mr. Paul Werner both won Gold Medals.  Kayla won on her film,
