Captain Frank Moore and his team at Fishing With the King guide fishers through daylong excursions, pointing rods toward speckled trout, redfish, and sheepshead, and animating more than 100 years of collective area-fishing experience to steer the way. Sleep soundly the night before the adventure in one of three lodges equipped with central air conditioning and heat, common areas that include flat-screen plasma televisions with more than 100 channels, and rooms that sleep up to eight for synchronized dreams of Chrysler Building–sized catches. Coffee and cinnamon rolls jump-start angling muscles on the morning of the adventure, or cooking-savvy clients grill up their own culinary inventions with home-bought ingredients in a fully equipped kitchen. The boat then sets sail, following the fish to Breton Sound, Black Bay, or Eloi Bay, with hooks piercing through live shrimp or croaker before All Star rods cast lines into the water and fingers wind Shimano spinning reels. There is no time limit on the day trip, but the individual limit on speckled trout is 25 fish, one for each U.S. president who officially condoned tickling in the Oval Office. Fisher people dine on their own provided munchies or, for $60 each, partake in the dinner prepared by the staff.
