Dangerous Recall - CooperVision Toric Contact Lens Recalled

CooperVision Toric Contact Lens Recalled

CooperVision voluntarily recalled 600,000 Avaira Toric lenses in August
following reports of corneal tears, red eye, ear pain, eye pain and blurred vision.
Federal health officials have pressured one of the nation's largest eye care companies
to send out a new alert to users of its contact lenses.
These were sold at SOLD AT WALMART COSCO AND LENS CRAFTER.

CooperVision voluntarily recalled 600,000 Avaira Toric lenses in August
following reports of corneal tears, red eye and blurred vision.
Now, the company has publicly acknowledged the lenses have caused "severe eye pain"
for some users of the Avair Toric lenses, and possibly other lenses made by CooperVision.
The voluntary recall came after CooperVision got complaints about the injuries, which
were caused by residue left behind during the manufacturing process.
The Food and Drug Administration said it is still evaluating the company's response,
and may force the company to do more to publicize the recall.
